Matchbox book
May is a busy month what with Summer so near, school-year close to the finish line, exams, recitals, concerts, you name it we've done it this month! In addition, on the very last day of May it's my Father's birthday. He likes to read, listen to music and collects postal stamps so I've combined all these things and made him a matchbox style book (SVGCuts Spirit of Christmas Past kit). The book is approx. 5x5x2.
I created the score-themed paper embellishment like a postal stamp and put on a little birdie to sing those notes.
The sides of the box are embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes and Happy Birthday embossing folders and I inked every edge and corner with a combination of Ranger's Tea dye and Walnut distress inks. The berries are tiny little blobs of Liquid Pearls.
As it is a matchbox style book there's a "drawer" inside of it so it doesn't open but slides out. Inside I used Stephanie Barnard's stamp set: postmarks2stamp.
I'll put a little something inside but the book itself is the birthday present so let's hope my Dad will like it!
Thanks for joining me tonight too.
