Entry for the Lamp challenge by SVGCuts
The challenge was as follow: "Create your version of the lamp from our Maison de Madeline SVG Kit! Cut the lamp as designed and embellish in a unique way."I wasn't sure if I was brave enough to post an entry in a challenge but I really like how it came out so here goes nothing! :)
Initially I created this lamp for a friend not the contest, so it's done with the colors and theme she likes. I noticed butterflies are a popular embellishment and still the color-combo and other embellishments used make every lamp unique!
So, I used Bo Bunny (no surprise there) Sweet Tooth paper collection for the lampshade and the accent on the lamp-base, pale pink vellum for the butterfly-upper-wings and behind the shade accent -I ran the vellum through the cuttlebug in the "script" embossing folder-, heavy weight cardstack in turquoise for added sturdiness.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum using only pink cord around the bottom edge of the shade, the butterflies of course, liquid pearls and stickles here and there.
Here's what the lamp looks like at night with a LED-candle inside of it.
Whatever the outcome of the challenge I'm sure my friend will enjoy this lamp and the other "desk-accessories" I created for her.
Thanks for coming by.
